Welcome to the World of “Keeping Track of your Finances” with QuickBooks (Desktop Version)
– You will need this class:
if you are having a hard time keeping track of your income and expense?
– You will need this class:
if you have more months left after you got paid because you do not keep track of your finances
This class is mainly for small to medium business, however, that does not mean that an individual could not benefit from the knowledge and maybe start keeping track of their financial life.
Why this class?
Because, thousands of small companies and nonprofit organizations turn to Quickooks to keep their finances on track. And over the years, Intuit has introduced various editions of the program to satisfy the needs of different types of companies.
Back when milk was simply milk, you either used QuickBooks or you didn’t.
But now, when you can choose milk from soybeans and rice as well as cows, and with five different levels of fat, it’s no surprise that QuickBooks comes in a variety of editions (which, in some cases, are dramatically different from their siblings), as well as six industry-specific editions. From the smallest of sole proprietorship to burgeoning enterprises, one of these editions is likely to meet your needs and budget.
By the way, all tutorials are instructor-led and every student will receive a handout to include screenshots to help guide you through the material presented.
Here is an overview of some of the topics that we will cover:
- An Introduction to QuickBooks
- some Bookkeeping/Accounting Terms
- Setting up your company (or yourself)
- Chart of Accounts
- Customers/Clients
- Sales Tax
- Vendors
- Banking

WordPress Blog and Web Design
Find out why WordPress powers over 30.2% of all websites while learning how to create your own blog or website.
WordPress is the most user friendly CMS, and as most people building their website with WordPress are not developers, the whole point of the CMS should be to make it as easy as possible to build a clean, good looking website that can scale with your business. ~Google
Start with the basics such as how to install, set up and select a theme without having to learn HTML. Then dive deeper into the software by developing an understanding of customization specifics such as how to use widgets, plugins, the difference between the paid and free versions, along with tips on how to schedule blog and video posts. Finally, increase traffic to your new website by promoting your blog through social media.
… it also powers the websites of some of the worlds biggest brands, including TechCrunch, MTV,Sweden.se, Microsoft, Facebook News and Vogue
We will start with a free WordPress site. Please be aware that a free site is limited to the changes that you would like to make, so ….
… you will need to have to have a domain name and hosting in order to take full advantage of wordpress for your website … ! I am using Godaddy.com for all my websites. If you ask them I think they still offer a free month of hosting, however you will have to buy a domain name.
If you need assistance with buying a domain name, please Contact Trainer/Instructor (a small fee may apply)
Some of the Topics we will cover:
- Narrowing down your topic
- Writing about multiple topics
- Deciding how much time to commit
- Designing your blog (WordPress)
- Posts and Pages
- Using drafts
- Scheduling posts
- Social Media
